Job Summary
We are seeking a Controls Technician for our client near Rochester, New York. The ideal candidate will manage various tasks related to automation and controls.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to company policies and proactively addressing unsafe behaviors or conditions.
Serve as a resource for the facility, collaborating with operators, engineers, and external consultants on maintenance issues and projects, including identifying necessary hardware and software solutions.
Troubleshoot and trainusers on PLCs, robotic controls, automated equipment, and instrumentation systems.
Adapt existing programs to meet user needs, including databases and PLC software.
Deliver quality products and services while following safety and quality control procedures.
Manage capital and expense projects as needed.
Perform other related tasks as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Associate's degree or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation technology preferred.
Minimum three years in industrial controls; familiarity with analog / digital instrument control and automated machinery.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; conflict resolution; project and time management expertise.
Self-motivated, hands-on, and able to build professional trust within a team.
Requirements :
Flexible working hours, including potential weekends and overtime.
Ability to respond to urgent situations outside normal hours.
Prolonged periods of standing or sitting; ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working in various plant environments with appropriate PPE.
