Job Title : Survey CAD Technician

Location : Rochester, MI (Hybrid)

Job Overview :

We are seeking a skilled Survey CAD Technician to join our team in the civil engineering and surveying industry. This hybrid role requires experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D , MicroStation , or GeoPAK and involves creating accurate designs, plans, and surveys for a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform basic mathematical calculations, including pipe slopes, areas, and volumes.
• Develop and detail construction plans by processing raw information from designers.
• Follow CAD standards, conventions, and guidelines to maintain uniformity in work products.
• Review and verify plans for accuracy and completeness.
• Import survey data into Civil 3D and produce boundary, topographical, ALTA, and as-built surveys.
• Generate stake-out coordinates and plot information for field crews.
• Create site plans, utility layouts, and profiles for proposed and existing designs.
• Plot legal descriptions for parcels, easements, and rights-of-way.
• Estimate man-hours required for CAD project completion.
• Collaborate with designers to produce high-quality deliverables with minimal supervision.

Requirements :

Minimum of 1 year of full-time professional CAD experience in a similar industry.

High school diploma required; an associate degree in a related field is preferred.

Understanding of the metric system and ability to convert between metric and English measurements.

A minimum of 40 hours of additional field experience is preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Demands :

Primarily office-based, with moderate noise levels. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
