About the Role :
We are seeking a meticulous and organized Transportation Project Manager / Estimator to join our team in the Department of Transportation division. This role involves managing bridge and road construction projects from start to finish, developing accurate cost estimates, overseeing project execution, and ensuring client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with a solid understanding of construction management principles.
Key Responsibilities :
- Estimate and manage bridge and road construction projects from inception to completion.
- Review project plans, specifications, and documents to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Analyze project blueprints and specifications to estimate material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Prepare detailed take-offs, scopes of work, and bid packages for bridge and road construction projects.
- Communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to gather quotes and ensure competitive pricing.
- Analyze bid results, prepare detailed proposals, and present cost estimates to clients.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules, ensuring all projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Develop project leads and maintain client communication to meet project goals and build relationships.
- Coordinate and manage all project activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
- Ensure project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and reports, is accurate and completed on time.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential project challenges.
Qualifications :
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs.
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with self-performing or specialty contractors.
Work Environment :
This role includes both office and job site / field settings. The work environment may involve exposure to seasonal temperatures, confined or elevated spaces, loud noises, and indoor / outdoor settings.
Travel :
Travel to and from job sites is required. Travel expenses will be compensated when applicable.
