We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Service Technician in the Dallas, Texas area to install, troubleshoot, and maintain Access Control Systems, Video Surveillance (CCTV), and other low-voltage security solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with wiring, configuration, testing, and repairs of security and surveillance equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Access Control Systems, Video Surveillance (CCTV), Intrusion Detection, and related low-voltage systems.
- Run, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Fiber, and other low-voltage cabling.
- Configure and program security systems, including IP-based and analog CCTV systems, card readers, and biometric access control units.
- Conduct system inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and resolve system faults, wiring issues, and connectivity problems efficiently.
- Work with clients to provide technical support, system training, and service documentation.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
- Ensure installations comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines.
- 2-5 years of experience in low-voltage installation and service.
- Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting Access Control Systems
- Hands-on experience with Video Surveillance Systems
- Strong knowledge of IP networking, PoE switches, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Ability to use tools such as cable testers, multimeters, crimpers, and punch-down tools.
- Understanding of low-voltage wiring codes and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of CRM systems including customer records management and a willingness to learn new platforms.
- Experience with Verkada and/or Rhombus a plus.
- BICSI Certification (Installer/Technician)
- OSHA 10/30 Certification
- IPVM Video Surveillance Training
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs, work at heights, climb ladders, and operate power tools.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Willingness to work on-site, travel locally, and work flexible hours when needed.
