TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for overseeing all clinical treatment programs for patients with substance abuse issues in
outpatient settings, ensuring the provision of high-quality clinical care and the integration of clinical
functions. The Clinical Director provides leadership and policy direction for outpatient treatment
programs, maintains accepted medical practice standards, and supervises staff.
This position is responsible for overseeing the clinical operations of the facility, ensuring compliance with
state, federal, and agency regulations. This position includes ensuring all clinical staff are informed of
patient treatment goals and recovery processes, facilitating regular feedback, supervising treatment
programs provided to patients, participating in screening potential patients, and collaboration among team
members.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of clinical services, ensuring compliance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
- Complete documentation of patient information, including activities performed or interventions provided as part of the service delivery process, to be documented and monitored in resident case files.
- Organization, maintenance and monitoring of resident case files for appropriate professional writing and file management by treatment team, noting and addressing deficiencies with appropriate Treatment Team member
- Review and sign off on clinical documentation, including assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans, ensuring clarity and thoroughness.
- Manage documentation of billable services and coordinates with the biller to ensure standards are met.
- Ensure that clarification of the therapeutic role and treatment plan with the patient and family is completed.
Responsible for adhering to all applicable Federal and State laws, the professional code of ethics
prescribed by the Medical Board of Ohio. Monitors regulatory and clinical standards; productivity and
quality assurance efforts, meet contractual reporting requirements and performance standards.
- Adheres to all confidentiality laws as applied to substance use.
- Collaborate with the Medical Director to align clinical practices with medical protocols and treatment methodologies.
- Must stay informed about emerging trends, research, and regulatory changes.
- Recruit, screen train, supervise, and support any additional clinical staff.
- Provide feedback to the Board of Directors on safety, programming, and progress.
- Oversees program audit visits and reports.
- Assume additional duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
- Licensure: Current and valid licensure in Ohio with the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in mental health and substance use treatment
- Supervisory or leadership experience in a clinical setting
- Strong knowledge of the insurance billing process
- Typing and computer competency: Proficient in Windows applications for moderate levels of typing case notes, client records, client intake, and documents
- Extensive knowledge: Principles, practices, and medications involved in assessing and treating
- addiction-related disorders
- Proficient in electronic medical record systems and other clinical documentation tools
- Excellent verbal and written skills: Ability to create clear and concise reports
