Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - Telemetry to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiac conditions, monitoring their vital signs and responding to any changes in their health status. The ideal candidate will have experience in telemetry nursing and possess strong critical thinking skills to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients' heart rhythms and vital signs continuously, interpreting data to identify any abnormalities.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
- Perform various nursing procedures including catheterization, spinal taps, and critical care transport as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Provide support for infectious disease care and memory care as required by patient needs.
- Assist in the management of patients with workers compensation law considerations when applicable.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in telemetry nursing or related critical care environments preferred.
- Familiarity with Level I Trauma Center protocols is a plus.
- Ability to perform sonography procedures is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of best practices for caring for children is an asset.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends if necessary.
