What are the responsibilities and job description for the BioBank Laboratory Technician - STX position at NEXT Oncology?
Position Description : Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelors or Associates Degree preferably in pharmacology, neuroscience, biology, animal science, or related science or successful completion of at least sixty (60) semester hours of college credit at an accredited college or university with a focus in a life science
Previous research experience with rodents or other laboratory animals; preferred but not required
Previous experience with cell culture; preferred but not required
Bilingual (English / Spanish)
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Collect, label, and record biological specimens from mouse and human tissues
Obtain necessary consent from patients at various clinics in the area
Deliver and collect tissue kits from various hospitals and clinics
Use molecular biology techniques with human tissues to establish cancer tumor models
Prepare cell culture medias and maintain cancer cell lines including spheroid cultures
Assist with ordering and maintaining supply of inventories
Maintain written documentation and subsequent data entry into various databases
Basic knowledge of computers with Microsoft Word and Excel
Observe, document, report, and record animal behavior and interactions, both normal and abnormal
General rodent handling and restraint capabilities to perform various surgical procedures
Strictly follow all procedures necessary to maintain animal housing areas or isolator environments, including room or facility personnel entry and personnel protective equipment use
Perform other duties as assigned

Fulltime 8am-5pm
