What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solutions Architect position at Next Perimeter?
Next Perimeter is a leading cloud-first cybersecurity provider specializing in zero trust architecture and protection against modern-day threats, whether in-office or remote. We leverage cutting-edge technologies like Intune, Windows, and Microsoft 365 to deliver security and optimization settings to devices, ensuring a modern desktop experience for our clients.
The Solutions Architect acts as a technical strategist and expert, responsible for designing and optimizing tailored IT and cybersecurity solutions that align with client goals, internal capabilities, and Next Perimeter's core service offerings. Bridging Professional Services, Managed Services, and Sales, this role ensures solutions are secure, scalable, and operationally efficient, enhancing client outcomes and organizational value.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing technical solutions that meet client needs and align with Next Perimeter's offerings. You will partner with the Sales team to assess client goals, challenges, and technical environments through discovery sessions, evaluating infrastructure, software, security posture, and operational workflows. Using this information, you will develop scalable, cost-effective solutions that leverage Next Perimeter's expertise in EDR, SASE, MXDR, network standards, and advanced lifecycle management processes such as pre-kitting and device disposal. You will also create reusable solution templates for common scenarios while customizing solutions for complex, high-value accounts.
As part of pre-sales and scoping support, you will act as a technical advisor, collaborating with sales and account teams to ensure alignment between proposed solutions and contractual agreements. You will develop detailed project scopes, timelines, resource plans, and dependencies, translating technical needs into actionable deliverables for internal teams and clients.
Your responsibilities will also include technical oversight, ensuring seamless project handoffs to Professional Services by providing comprehensive documentation and serving as an escalation point during deployment. You will work closely with Managed Services to ensure solutions are designed for long-term supportability, collaborating on monitoring tools, workflows, and security configurations.
Finally, you will play a key role in documentation and process development by creating high-quality network diagrams, technical workflows, and solution designs. You will collaborate with department heads to establish and maintain clear and consistent SOPs for solutions, ensuring alignment across teams.
Requirements and Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or have equivalent experience. They should have at least five years of experience in IT, sales engineering, or solutions design roles, with a proven track record of designing solutions within Microsoft 365, Entra/Azure AD, Intune, or similar environments.
Candidates must demonstrate technical expertise in identity and access management, endpoint management, cybersecurity tools such as EDR and SASE, and cloud-native solutions. Proficiency in solution scoping, creating technical diagrams, and producing clear, high-quality documentation is essential.
Strong collaboration and communication skills are critical for effectively interfacing with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The role also requires exceptional problem-solving, analytical thinking, and organizational abilities to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
What Does Success Look Like?
First, solutions must be delivered on time and within budget, with internal teams providing positive feedback on the clarity and feasibility of proposed designs. Client satisfaction will be another critical indicator, demonstrated through positive client feedback on solutions, as well as fewer escalations resulting from accurate scoping and clear designs.
Standardization will also play an important role, with increased adoption of reusable solution templates and a reduction in scoping time for standard engagements highlighting efficiency improvements. Finally, the successful integration of new tools and services into solutions, along with positive outcomes from vendor partnerships and tool adoption, will showcase the effectiveness of technology strategy and alignment with Next Perimeter's objectives.
Benefits:
We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan to help you plan for the future. You'll enjoy unlimited vacation, sick leave, and access to our Employee Assistance Program to support your well-being. We also provide parental leave, and professional development assistance to help you grow in your career.
Schedule:
This is an in-office position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Upon the successful completion of Next Perimeter's 90-day introductory period, you'll be allowed to select one (1) recurring work-from-home day.
Salary : $105,000 - $135,000
