Are you passionate about supporting the behavioral and mental health needs of youth? At Next Step Coaching and Counseling Services, we are seeking a Behavioral Assistant to work alongside our clinical team to provide essential support to children and families.
As a Behavioral Assistant, you will play a key role in implementing therapeutic interventions, teaching coping skills, and fostering positive behavioral changes in a compassionate and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing individualized behavioral health plans in collaboration with licensed clinicians.
- Provide direct support to youth and families in both community-based and outpatient settings.
- Teach coping, self-regulation, and other life skills to promote emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure a consistent and holistic approach to care.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress reports in compliance with confidentiality standards.
- Deliver psychoeducation services and assist with the implementation of evidence-based interventions.
Requirements:
Education:
- Required: High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, social work).
Experience:
- Required: Minimum of one year of relevant post-high school experience in a comparable environment, such as:
- Working directly with youth in community-based social service programs.
- Direct care in residential or outpatient behavioral health settings.
- Conducting or implementing behavioral/mental health activities or interventions.
- Preferred: 2 years of experience, especially within the last two years.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
