Job Summary
The Front Desk Agent serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role involves managing front desk operations, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere, and facilitating smooth patient interactions. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a basic understanding of medical terminology, enabling them to assist with patient inquiries effectively.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing them with necessary information regarding services and procedures.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency.
- Collect and verify patient information, including medical history and insurance details.
- Assist in the administration of vital signs when required.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care.
- Handle inquiries related to outpatient services, hospital medicine, dermatology, urgent care, and medical-surgical procedures.
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals when applicable.
- Uphold confidentiality standards while managing sensitive patient information.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare or related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is a plus.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients and staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is beneficial.
