Role OverviewWe are looking for a Business Development & Recruitment Specialist to join our team as a full-time independent contractor. In this fully remote role, you’ll play a key part in helping small to mid-sized businesses build exceptional teams while shaping the future of our growing company.
As a small, growing business, we are looking for someone who can:
- Develop net new business by building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Recruit full-cycle for roles you bring in.
- Support team recruitment efforts for other roles as needed.
- Help shape our future by contributing to the development of marketing and sales processes.
This is an entrepreneurial role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, self-directed environment but values collaboration and long-term relationships.
What You’ll Do:- Build and manage your own client relationships, focusing on trust and long-term success.
- Develop and manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from client acquisition to candidate placement, with a target of 2 placements per month.
- Collaborate on team projects to support recruitment efforts for other roles, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Source and engage top-tier candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, and personal networks.
- Conduct assessments, manage interviews, and perform reference checks to ensure the best client-candidate fit.
- Provide regular updates to clients and maintain proactive communication throughout the recruitment process.
- Use Next Step Recruitment's tools and resources (ATS, job boards, etc.) to streamline workflows.
- Help establish marketing and sales processes to support business development efforts.
- Entrepreneurial and self-motivated, ready to take ownership of your success.
- Experienced in full-cycle recruitment, particularly for manager to executive-level roles.
- A strong communicator who builds trust and keeps clients and candidates informed.
- Skilled at business development with a track record of growing client relationships.
- Comfortable working in a small, growing business where flexibility and adaptability are key.
- Familiar with LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS systems, and sourcing tools.
- Collaborative and values teamwork while maintaining independence.

Compensation:
- Option 1: Base salary commission.
- Option 2: Full commission at a higher rate.
