Are you looking for a change? Next Steps Community Services is looking for a Full-Time RN Nurse Trainer to become part of our dynamic team. Next Steps has adult group homes in Rochester, Milton, Wakefield, Tamworth and Conway, NH and serves adults with intellectual disabilities with no pervasive medical issues.
Position: RN Nurse Trainer
Locations: Rochester, Milton, Wakefield, Tamworth and Conway, NH
Setting: Group Homes for Adults with Developmental Disabilities
Full Time - Up to $75K, $1,000 Bonus, A FREE COMPANY CAR and Excellent Benefits!!!
Requirements: RN Nurse Trainer or a NH RN with at least 2 Years of Nursing Experience.

- No previous experience serving adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (ID/DD) is required.
- The ideal candidate must have at least two years of nursing experience(any specialty), be licensed in New Hampshire and be willing to become a Certified Nurse Trainer (paid training).
Duties Include:
Training
· Medication Administration & Healthcare Coordination per He-M 1201 State Regulations (on –going, as needed and yearly retraining)
· Medical and Health Care Related Protocols (PRN meds, epi pens, insulin administration, blood sugar checks, vital signs, CPAP, Clozaril, Inhalers, wound care, diets)
· In-Service Trainings as needed
Consulting
· Medications and Treatments
· Clinical consults to teams that support health of individuals
· On-Call on the phone only (medication & healthcare questions), there is no need to be called into the programs!
· Collaborate with hospital staff when individuals are hospitalized and participate in discharge planning
Leadership
· Attend NH RN Trainer meetings monthly
· Attend Staff & Service Agreement meetings as needed
· Continue to improve quality of Nurse Trainer Role
Regulatory
· Conduct Quality Assurance Audits via an on-site review in compliance with state regulations He-M1201 every 1-3 months depending on the setting and ensure compliance with follow up recommendations
· Assist with certification preparation and licensing and follow up as needed
· Train and supervise staff according to rule of delegation NUR 404.04
· Nursing 5 day and 30-day Visits for individuals new to services
· Review and sign Health History within 30 days of admission and Service Agreement yearly
· Self-Med Assessments for all individuals (Yearly for those who self- medicate)
· Ensure progress towards annual health goals via the Annual Health Screening Recommendation form and ensure completion annually
· PRN Protocols are written and signed within 30 days
· HRST (Health Risk Screening Tool) Tracker is completed monthly and, in the record, (signed yearly)
To become a NH RN Trainer, you must be a licensed RN in New Hampshire who:
(1) Has 2 years of licensed nursing experience within the past 5 years, at least one of which was as a registered nurse;
(2) Successfully completes a 6-hour orientation program conducted by DHHS
(3) Is not under disciplinary action pursuant to RSA 326-B:37, III.
(4) Has a NH Driver's License in good standing
