Job Description
- Diagnose & treat acute & chronic conditions, collaborate with specialists when needed & promote preventative health measures for overall patient well-being
- Responsible for the preventive maintenance & treatment of the physically ill
- Participate in all quality initiatives including but not limited to annual wellness visits & completing documentation
- Actively participate in medical staff meetings, peer reviews & continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care
- Actively participate scheduling, patient care huddles/pre-visit planning, compilation of patient care plans, patient education & patient self management goals
- Supervises medical functions of all related staff & administrative employees
- Gain and maintain privileges at local hospitals, if applicable
- Admit or arrange admission of patients needing hospitalization
- Participate in hospital call rotation as required
- Available by phone in emergencies
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Completed an approved residency program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
- Hold or be eligible for an Alabama medical license
- Alabama Medical Licensure, DEA Certification, State of Alabama Controlled Substance Registration, Board Certified or Board Eligible & maintain one of the following certifications: BLS, ALS, PALS
