Nextant is looking for Programmer/Writer 3 to join our client team. As a Programmer/Writer, you’ll work with engineering and product manager teams to understand end-to-end scenarios, research technical specs, and try out features to learn the details. With this knowledge, you will create documentation for developers, helping them build applications that connect to internal AI tools. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance and site experience to assist partners in solving complex problems and exploring new opportunities with our services. You will help the product team set up authoring tools and automate API documentation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with engineering and product manager teams to understand end-to-end scenarios, research technical specs, and try out features to learn the details. With this knowledge, you will create documentation for developers, helping them build applications that connect to internal AI tools.
- You will provide technical guidance and site experience to assist partners in solving complex problems and exploring new opportunities with our services.
- You will help the product team set up authoring tools and automate API documentation.
Requirements:
- B.S. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technical Communications, or related field
- 5 years of experience reading and programming RESTful APIs, Python, or other language
- 5 years of experience writing developer documentation
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with REST APIs
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with GitHub and Markdown
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with creating developer documentation.
- A Portfolio or previous samples of technical documentation is required – the best examples of previous work will include well thought through conceptual guidance, well structed references, tight and concise writing, and some work with REST APIs.
- Familiarity with Microsoft developer documentation creation (GitHub, markdown, and API reflection).
Best vs Average:
- The ideal resume would contain previous experience working on Microsoft developer documentation and working with Microsoft developer documentation tooling.

Pay Rate:
The annual salary range for this position is $83,000 - $90,000 in Washington State. Please note that the salary range is a general guideline. Nextant considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills, and other market and business considerations when extending an offer.
