Job Title: Financial Controller
Location: Dover, OH
Duration: Direct Hire
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.
- Coordinate and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports for management and stakeholders.
- Provide financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis.
- Assist with the preparation and execution of financial audits and tax filings.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support in day-to-day activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial decision-making and strategic planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial management role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or CMA preferred but not required
- Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial management role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll management
- Experience with financial statement preparation (balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flow reports)
- Expertise in financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Knowledge of internal controls and ability to ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax laws
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective leadership and team management experience
- Ability to communicate financial insights to stakeholders and non-financial teams
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $118,025.00 - $125,363.00 per year
