SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
NextDecade is seeking a full-time Engineer, Asset Integrity to support long-term operations for the Rio Grande LNG facility located near Brownsville, Texas. The position is based in Brownsville; however, it may require travel to and from Houston. The incumbent will report to the Manager, Engineering Asset Integrity & Mechanical in the Operations Department, under the leadership of the Sr. Manager, Facilities Engineer, Sr Director of Engineering and Vice President of Operations. The role has no direct reports. Peer level personnel will include other discipline engineers from within the engineering department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provide ownership for the performance of integrity equipment, systems and processes :
- Equipment : Heat exchangers, pressure vessels, piping, pressure safety valves
- Systems and Processes : Risk based inspection, pressure equipment repair and fitness for service, welding and NDT, piping vibration management (including AIV / FIV), leak detection and repair program, integrity management digital tool.
- Drive the mechanical integrity (risk-based inspection) program to ensure a cost and risk optimized maintenance program for pressure equipment and piping, in compliance with regulatory requirements. Drive continuous improvement and use of technology to deliver the inspection program.
- Assess the remaining integrity of components with identified defects using engineering calculations and industry standards to determine if they can continue to operate safely.
- Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams on asset integrity issues, including troubleshooting and recommending repair strategies.
- Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures to identify underlying issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure adherence to relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies regarding asset integrity.
- Prepare turnaround scopes for integrity inspections and review all turnaround maintenance work-packs.
