The Director of Field Services is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution and successful delivery of wireless construction projects performed by internal and external resources. This role will provide strategic leadership in driving efficiencies within the organization. The leader of the construction operations will coordinate cross-functional teams, cultivate high-level relationships with stakeholders, and drive the operational success of the business through strategic planning, budget management and effective team development. The key objectives of this role are to control costs, ensure the health and safety of crews and deliver high quality outcomes for our customers.

Primary Responsibilities
- Creates a safety culture by setting direction to reduce or eliminate operations-related injuries or accidents by ensuring all safety programs are thoroughly implemented and consistently executed.
- Drive operational excellence and efficiencies, ensuring benchmarks and targets are established and managed, including profitability, production efficiency, employee utilization, quality, employee churn and overtime.
- Lead organization to deliver high-quality services, meeting customer timelines and project budgets.
- Innovate through continuous improvement initiatives and decisive disruptive transformation, driving improvements in procedure, organization structure and administrative functions.
- Develop an annual operating budget in support of regional projections and manage a system of controls to ensure that service levels and operational performance goals are met.
- Execute key metrics and develop and utilize dashboards, analytics, and metrics to gain insight into daily operations to ensure achievement of goals.
- Provide leadership, mentorship and professional develop to team members fostering a culture of collaboration, safety and high performance.
- Partner with stakeholders to facilitate training programs for employees, ensuring that safety standards and production compliance are met.
- Develop and manage budgets for construction projects, ensuring that all projects are delivered within financial parameters.
- Provide regular project reviews with key stakeholders to assess risks, set deliverables and track progress.
- Partner with program management to monitor and manage project timelines, addressing scope changes and their impact on overall project schedules.
- Maintain responsibility for crew performance including budgeting, headcount, cost tracking and ensuring projects are delivered on budget.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors, contractors, suppliers, accounts and carriers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Logistics, or Business Administration or related field (or equipment experience)
- 10 years of experience in construction management
- 5 years in a leadership role, ideally within the telecommunications industry
- Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams
- Excellent project management skills including the ability to oversee the planning and implementation.
- In-depth knowledge of wireless telecom industry and field service operations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Strong computer skills especially in MS Office and Excel for reporting and analysis.
- Proven safety-first decision making through problem-solving and evaluating long-term considerations.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, influence, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude and critical thinking skills with demonstrated results driving critical strategies forward.
- Ability to interact with a diverse set of leaders and members at various levels within various functional areas that impact business.
- Ability to proactively identify areas of improvement and implement positive change.
- Directly manages, supervises and develops a team of Operations Managers who lead large internal construction teams.
- Sets goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company and clients’ plans and vision.
- Develops and mentors all levels of the organization and trains new staff in the department.
- Organizes/oversees workflow and ensures that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.
- Monitors employee productivity and provides constructive feedback and coaching. Provides timely performance evaluations.
- Partners with HR/Legal to address performance issues of employees in accordance with company policy.
- This is a hybrid role that will require time in office as well as travel to company locations or job sites.
