We are looking for an inquisitive, highly self motivated individual who is eager to learn and has good attention to detail and time management skills. This position is responsible for the planning and coordination of tasks relating to the delivery of motor control functional testing and calibration development for electronic steering system applications. This position allows the candidate to see the full lifecycle of the project – from requirements to design to testing to implementation to production. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn about motor control systems and motor control test equipment and methods.
Job Description:
- Provide leadership in the verification, calibration, and release of motor control functions and calibrations for customer applications.
- Utilize project management skills to coordinate verification activities involved with calibration of motor control and motor sensor performance.
- Project coordination and scheduling of lab infrastructure required for testing and validation of motor control and motor sensor subsystem requirements.
- Understands and creates processes, procedures, and work instructions for motor control and motor sensor application testing.
- Diagnoses and corrects deficiencies in designs and prototypes.
- Understands test machine requirements and instrumentation.
- Effectively integrates all aspects of a design through the use of multi-disciplinary engineering.
- Assists in maintaining cost controls.
- Assist in fostering and developing a strong team environment within the group while supporting strategic goals within the EPS team and the Nexteer organization.
- Manage group work load, administer annual performance reviews to employees.
- Develop employees (training, mentor, coach) to help them reach company and personal goals.
Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Required.
- 5 years of work experience in systems engineering, and/or test and verification of electromechanical systems.
- Strong systems engineering skills (understanding of requirements flow-down, traceability, and verification) preferred
- Experience in leading and managing complex technical projects preferred.
- Strong project management skills.
- Good organization and written communication and documentation skills.
- Experience with Matlab/Simulink, LabView, dSpace is preferred.
- Basic programming skills including HTML, CSS, and Java script are preferred.
- Must be able to drive a vehicle
- Must be able to walk from building to building and stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
