NextEnergy Center is a not-for-profit consultancy based in Michigan. NextEnergy facilitates the development and acceptance of technology-based solutions to mitigate the effects of adverse climate change in the state of Michigan. We are also affiliated with the Department of Energy’s Clean Cities initiative.


Responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic professional to join our team to support energy, sustainability, and mobility work with commercial and public sector clients. This person will lead the management of our projects, working under the leadership of our program manager.

We partner with our clients to evaluate & optimize programs that deliver transformational improvements for climate, energy, and other goals. We are innovative in our approach and continuously improve the program experience for customers.

The Project Analyst will be coordinating projects and workstreams, contributing to project planning, preparing, and maintaining documentation, reviewing contracts and financials, monitoring project activities, and evaluating the overall project performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

•        Contributing to project planning, budgeting, and overall strategy

•        Establishing key performance indicators

•        Monitoring and evaluating the overall project

•        Analyzing project data and producing insights to optimize performance

•        Identifying problems and shortfalls and proposing solutions

•        Providing operational support such as liaising with stakeholders, tracking timelines, etc.

•        Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining project documentation and reports

•        Maintaining project contracts and financials

Additional Responsibilities:

•        Contributing to technology development through project work and overall strategy

•        Establishing key project technology deliverables

•        Monitoring and evaluating the overall project technology development

•        Analyzing project data and producing insights to optimize performance

•        Identifying problems and shortfalls and proposing solutions

•        Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining project documentation and reports


Qualifications

•        Bachelor’s in business, engineering, communications and/or related discipline

•        Knowledgeable in all phases of the project management life cycle.

•        Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills

•        Proficiency with data analytics in Microsoft Excel

•        Ability to assume ownership of significant portions of tasks while collaborating with a close-knit team

•        Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines

•        Demonstrated attention to detail

•        Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills

•        Strong interpersonal skills

•        An inquisitive nature and desire for continuous improvement

•        Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

•        2 years’ experience with project management and operations (including internships, co-ops, fellowships, and graduate research)

•        Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint

•        PMP Certification

•        Excellent at visualizing data, synthesizing insights, and storytelling with data
