Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is currently seeking an Electrical Fleet Team Electrical Engineer (Excitation and Generator System Relay Protection Subject Matter Expert) who can apply diversified knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments related to fossil power generation. This candidate will need to make decisions independently regarding engineering complexities and methods. This position requires the use of advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices in this individual’s field.
This position does require some travel with 24 / 7 phone coverage in support of operational sites.
Areas of responsibility and duties :
- Provides technical leadership and mentoring to Electrical team engineers.
- Provides budget and technical guidance for capital and outage engineering projects.
- Plans and develops engineering projects concerned with unique or controversial complexities.
- Provides technical expertise in development of technical specifications, procedures, and processes.
- Acts as technical liaison to individuals within and outside the organization.
- Completes assignments given in broad terms concerning general objectives and limitations.
- Provides Excitation and Generator System Protection Relay technical knowledge of most OEM’s.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
