Position Specific Description
This position is responsible for developing customer relationships in the commercial and industrial sectors for NextEra Energy’s Integrated Clean Energy Solutions team and driving complex structured transactions across various NextEra Energy business units. The successful candidate will:
Understand the key factors in corporate decision making on energy infrastructure, such as budgeting cycles, governance processes, and ESG metrics- Effectively screen business targets by evaluating commercial potential
- Develop strong relationships within various NEE BUs to understand products offerings
- Understand fundamentals of both behind the meter and in front of the meter generation, including benefits, challenges, as well as relevant policies and incentives
- Own the development of integrated sales proposals, coordinating across multiple business units
Job Overview
This position is responsible for originating new commercial and industrial opportunities that require multiple NextEra solutions, with a particular emphasis on new clean energy products. A successful candidate will be able to fully understand and articulate a corporate’s clean energy needs, structure integrated offers to meet those needs, and partner with the customer through the entire deal process from origination to close. This position will work with multiple NextEra business units to develop a comprehensive approach that addresses customer’s energy needs across their portfolio.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Research customer energy and sustainability needs, understand market context, and competitive positioning in advance of initial customer interaction
- Work directly with potential customers to understand priorities
- Navigate NextEra’s internal organization, building relevant relationships with key subject matter experts and product owners
- Collaborate with analysts to determine optimal combination of solutions for a decarbonization roadmap including emissions impact, timing, pricing, and risk
- Prepare relevant meeting and deal related materials to present at customer meetings
- Oversee the full sales process from origination to close with relevant NEE business units
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's of Business Administration or Master's Degree with Energy or Sustainability Focus
- 5 Years work experience
- Strong project management skills
- Transactional experience, preferably in the energy industry
Job Overview
This position negotiates and executes complex structured power and/or Oil and Gas transactions, with a particular emphasis on new products, customers and/or regions. Employees in this role work closely with front-line originators and potential customers to understand their needs and develop product structures to meet them. Individuals are responsible for developing the deal structure, working with the different desks to develop pricing. Employees oversee, guide, and negotiate the contract to be signed between NextEra and the counterparty and are also responsible for selling the deal internally, navigating a rigorous vetting process, to gain approval. This position finally executes the structured transaction by gaining input from several different departments such as Pricing, Legal, Credit, Accounting, Risk Management, and Trading Groups.

- Communicates directly with potential customers and front-line originators to gain an understanding of customer needs in order to propose solutions, and/or negotiate deal structures and documents that meet those needs
- Analyzes and develops different structures for the customer including risk mitigation solutions to ensure risks are appropriately managed and quantified
- Oversees, guides, and negotiates the contract and related documents that will be signed between the Company and the counterparty
- Prepares presentations and other internal communications for senior leadership to guide and support the internal vetting process
- Coordinates with internal departments involved in the transaction such as Pricing, Legal, Credit, Accounting, Risk Management, and Trading Groups
- Presents deal to senior leadership, seeking approval of the proposed deal structure
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
