Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Specialty Lines Adjuster to join our team. As a member of our claims department, you will be responsible for handling property damages claims asserted by or against the company. Your primary role will be to investigate and evaluate each assigned claim to determine liability, bills, and/or negotiate satisfactory settlements of property damage claims when liability is found.
The ideal candidate for this position will be able to handle and adjust program claims that may be complex in nature on behalf of Palms Insurance Company and Palms Specialty Insurance Company. It is expected that the Specialty Lines Claims Adjuster will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring all aspects of the claim file handling of both in-house and third-party administered claims through diligent investigation and assessment. They will also strategically partner with counsel, experts, and vendors to analyze and determine coverage, manage and evaluate the claim investigation and discovery while keeping internal and external stakeholders apprised.
The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical/negotiation skills, excellent communication and writing skills, with a strong business acumen and ability to collaborate with other departments, business partners, and vendors. They will also have the ability to resolve complex claims with minimal supervision, good critical and analytical thinking, advocacy, and negotiation skills.
Responsibilities:
• Investigate and evaluate each assigned claim to determine liability, bills, and/or negotiate satisfactory settlements of property damage claims when liability is found
• Oversee and monitor all aspects of the claim file handling of both in-house and third-party administered claims through diligent investigation and assessment
• Strategically partner with counsel, experts, and vendors to analyze and determine coverage, manage and evaluate the claim investigation and discovery while keeping internal and external stakeholders apprised
• Perform pre and post-binding claim audits as needed and communicate the audit results to appropriate internal and external stakeholders
• Provide support and assistance to company attorneys throughout the claims litigation process, including court testimony
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
