OSP Inspector 2

Location: Boise, ID - 100% field role

Inspectors: Physically fit - Job is very demanding and can extend long hours. On feet for several hours per day.

Walking an average of 6-8 miles a day

Duration of project: 3 year build

Reports to Inspector 3: Scheduling is provided at the start of each work week/day.

• NESC understanding
• Solid understanding of both underground and aerial construction methods
• Tool: Pathwave for daily logs - 30 min training provided
• General understanding of underground construction process and procedures

Job Title: OSP Inspector II
Job Location: Boise, ID
Start Date: Mid-April

OSP INSPECTOR II – The OSP Inspector II will be responsible to ensure that all the client’s underground, buried and aerial plant facilities meet the current standards through inspections, and corrections work performed by contractors. The Inspector will document all inspections, audits, and pole transfers electronically, and be expected to communicate via email, and cellular phone. At times it may be necessary to perform inspections, audits, and transfers manually by the use of printed spreadsheets. Familiarity in using mapping/GPS technology.

Qualifications:

• OSHA30 Construction
• Previous experience performing NESC inspections or experience working on an aerial cable line crew
• Previous experience performing wooden pole ground line inspections.
• Must be proficient in OSP Construction Standards
• Familiarity with the National Electric Safety Code.
• Computer experience:
• Microsoft Windows XP, Excel 2003 or newer and Outlook
• Experience with mapping tools such as Microsoft MapPoint 2009 or newer is preferred, but not required.
• Familiar and comfortable with internet usage, and web page browsing.
• Good communication skills.
• Personal time management and organization skills.
• Construction contractor management skills.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel on short notice.
