Position: Civil Engineer III
Location: Cary, NC
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer III with a strong A&E design focus to join our Specialty Engineering team. This role is centered around designing, building, and permitting for Mission Critical Data Center facilities and various telecommunication infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform engineering tasks for medium- to high-complexity projects, including land development and infrastructure design for data centers, telecommunications sites, and broadcast facilities.
- Design and prepare construction drawings using Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, and other engineering tools.
- Develop designs for civil/site work, including stormwater management, grading, sewer systems, roads, electrical systems, HVAC, and permitting.
- Lead project management and act as a technical resource for stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, AutoCAD standards, and engineering principles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve design standards and project outcomes.
- Support and mentor less experienced engineers through training documentation and guidance.
- Participate in vendor sourcing, proposal development, and program-specific work scope updates.
- Stay updated on emerging industry technologies and incorporate them into designs.
- Travel up to 20% to support project needs.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Certification: Must hold a Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years in land development design for telecommunications, mission-critical facilities, or commercial developments,
- Minimum of 6 years in construction or field engineering for telecommunications or mission-critical facilities.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Expert in Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Strong experience with tools for retaining walls, stormwater analysis, and related civil engineering tasks.
- Strong understanding of greenfield site design, stormwater management, grading, power systems, HVAC, and permitting processes.
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills for effectively collaborating with teams and presenting ideas.
