Job Description:

The Mobile Networks Subscriber and Policy Operations Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting NFV-based 5G SA/NSA core systems. This position involves performing system integration and interoperability tests, assisting in customer acceptance testing, and providing deployment support. The role is specifically focused on Mobile Networks Subscriber and Policy Operations, with significant experience in subscriber database migration. The candidate will support system-level feature integration, inter-operability tests, test plan development, and troubleshooting within the customer’s lab and production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform system-level feature integration and verification.
• Conduct inter-operability tests with external network elements.
• Develop and execute test plans to verify functionality and performance.
• Troubleshoot and analyze problems in customer lab and production systems.
• Provide support for new system deployment and commissioning of new systems.
• Support migration of network systems.
• Provide technical support and operational management of mobile network subscriber and policy management systems (HLR/HSS).
• Collaborate with the core network team and external vendors for system integration.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BE) in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with 5 years of experience in telecommunications, or Master’s degree (MS) in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with 3 years of telecommunications experience.
• Hands-on experience in 3G/4G mobile subscriber and policy management systems (e.g., HLR/HSS).
• Proficiency in LTE and 5GC call flow diagnostics.
• Strong knowledge of EPC and SA/NSA 5GC architecture.
• Experience in debugging LTE and 5G SA/NSA call flows.
• Familiarity with service-based architecture and 5G SA cloud-native core network functions.
• Proficient in using Wireshark or other IP protocol analyzers.
• Solid understanding of LTE core interfaces such as S1, S6a, S11, DNS, Gx, Gy, S2a, S5/S8, S6b, SGi, S1-U, NAS, GTP-U, GTP, DIAMETER, RADIUS.
• Knowledge of SIP, IMS, and IP telephony standards.
• Experience with VoLTE and Deep Packet Inspection.
• Strong knowledge of IP protocols including IPv6, TCP/IP, UDP, ECMP, OSPF, BGP, VLAN, IPSec, NAT, IP forwarding.
• Network administration skills are advantageous.
• Familiarity with Tomcat and web GUI is beneficial.
• Exposure to programming in Python, Java, Perl, and Unix/Linux shell scripting is advantageous.
• Cisco router configuration experience is a plus.
• Understanding of technologies like OpenStack, OpenShift, DevOps, NFV, CNF, and Kubernetes is beneficial.

• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex mobile network systems.
