Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Database Architect to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for migrating, developing, and maintaining MS Access databases while ensuring optimal performance, data integrity, and seamless user experience. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in MS Access, VBA, SQL Server, and data integration, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Migrate existing MS Access databases from 2016 32-bit to 2024 64-bit versions, ensuring full functionality and data integrity.
- Design and implement complex stored procedures in SQL Server to automate processes within MS Access databases, improving efficiency and performance.
- Design, develop, and maintain MS Access databases, including tables, queries, forms, reports, and switchboards.
- Upgrade existing VBA code and develop new VBA solutions and macros to automate tasks and enhance database functionality.
- Utilize SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to integrate and transform data from multiple sources.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance to ensure efficient data retrieval and storage.
- Provide user support and training to ensure effective use and understanding of database systems.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database structures, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- 5 to 7 years of experience in building, maintaining, and enhancing MS Access databases.
- Proficiency in MS Access development, including tables, queries, forms, reports, and switchboards.
- Strong expertise in VBA and macros, with the ability to upgrade existing code and develop advanced solutions.
- Experience with SQL Server, including developing complex stored procedures and utilizing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for data integration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve database issues effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and support end-users.
- High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and integrity of data and database systems.
