What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fiber Project Manager position at NextGen | GTA: A Kelly Telecom Company?
This individual will play a key role in coordinating fiber construction projects, ensuring seamless communication between construction teams, customer groups, and leadership. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, provide regular updates, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones. Candidate must be based in or around Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, Arkansas areas.
What a Fiber Project Manager will be doing :
Project Coordination : Facilitate updates and communication between construction and customer teams, ensuring project requirements, timelines, and resources are clearly understood.
Progress Reporting : Track and report on project milestones, providing regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
Team Communication : Regularly update the construction team on project needs, timelines, and specifics. Address any requests or changes from the construction team and communicate with the customer as needed.
Cross-functional Collaboration : Lead and participate in cross-functional project meetings to review fiber builds and final activations.
Resource Management : Coordinate resources, vendors, and external teams to support project completion.
Documentation : Develop, maintain, and lead detailed project plans, schedules, and action item registers.
Data Integrity : Maintain data accuracy across project management tools, utilizing v-lookup and other comparison tools.
Problem Solving : Address project challenges, resource constraints, and other issues to ensure successful project delivery.
What we are looking in a Fiber Project Manager :
Must have prior Construction experience (fiber and / or coax).
Must be able to drive projects to completion.
Must be able to track and report on milestones.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must be organized, detail oriented and personable.
Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with construction teams, customers, and leadership.
Ability to use data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., v-lookup, data mining) to track project progress and generate reports.
Detail-oriented and capable of managing tasks efficiently.
Self-motivated and able to work independently and within a team.
Proactive in problem-solving and addressing project challenges.
Nice to Have :
Prior fiber construction experience is preferred but not required.
Experience working with cross-functional teams, managing vendors, and tracking project progress.
Familiarity with PMP methodologies (certification not required).
