Job Description:

We are looking for an IP Transport Engineer to join our Wireless Network team. As a key contributor, you will serve as a subject matter expert in a multi-functional team that includes R&D, Systems Engineering, and Product Validation to introduce Samsung products and solutions to wireless carriers. This position will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and optimization of IP/MPLS networks that support high-availability transport services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, Implement, and Optimize IP/MPLS Networks to support high-availability transport services.
• Configure and Troubleshoot Routing Protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, SR-IPv6, and MPLS-based solutions (L2VPN, L3VPN, RSVP-TE, Segment Routing) on multiple platforms (Juniper, Ciena, Cisco, etc.).
• Write Automation Scripts using Python, Ansible, Shell.
• Integrate network monitoring and management platforms (e.g., SNMP, NetFlow, Telemetry, SDN).
• Conduct lab testing of new network solutions (QoS, Routing, Failover), hardware, and software releases before production deployment.
• Perform functional, performance, and stress testing, validate network changes through pre- and post-implementation testing to ensure minimal impact.
• Simulate network failures and recovery scenarios to assess resiliency and redundancy mechanisms.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (IP Core, Transport, Security) to support network initiatives.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and process documentation.
• Ability to travel sporadically during the project.

Background & Competencies Required:

• Minimum 5 years of IP Transport experience.
• Experience with Juniper Routers and Switches is HIGHLY preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in EE/CS/TE is required; Master's degree is preferred.
• Experience in IP Transport design and development in wireless networks.
• Deep understanding of QoS mechanisms.
• Familiarity with Netconf protocol, YANG models, and RESTful APIs for programmable network operations.
• Tier3 SME experience: Ability to work under pressure to troubleshoot commercial NMS/EMS application issues and provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Fundamental understanding of OpenStack/Kubernetes is preferred.
• Understanding of virtualized solutions in the telecom space.
• Knowledge of 3GPP systems: Core and RAN networks, architecture, and protocols is preferred.
• Experience with High Availability and Redundancy systems.
• Hands-on experience with SNMP and TNM protocols, as well as NMS/OSS interfaces.
• Experience with Unix/Linux, and scripting tools like Python, Shell, Ansible.
• Experience in system engineering projects, including technical requirements identification and solutions design, deployment, and management.

Additional Skills & Attributes:

• Strong troubleshooting experience using command-line tools and scripts.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills for technical documentation and cross-functional collaboration.

Education & Certifications:

• Education: A technical degree in Networking, Electronics, Telecommunications, or Computer Science is desired.
• Certifications: CCNA, CCNP Routing and Switching, or Nokia NRS Certification is highly desired.
