Network Field Technician

Description:

This Positions is for central / northern Maine in the New England Market, prefer the candidate to be located in the Waterville / Augusta/ Bangor area of Maine where the majority of cell sites will be located.

Technology Requirements (I.E Programs, systems, etc.) Familiar with

• Ericsson cell site hardware-BB6630, BB6648, BB6651.

• Ericsson 6102, 6160, B160 cabinets

• Cell site routing – SAR-M SAS MXP, SAS

• Basic electrical with AC and DC power

• Day to Day - Cell cite maintenance, outages, preferred exp.
• Ericsson / hardware and equipment
• Routing knowledge VLAN , IP addressing ethernet - Physical connection (Layer 1,2 and 3)
• fiber - general connection types how to work and handle fiber (how to inspect and keep it clean)
• General understanding of fiber and ethernet connections
• Proficient computer skills (excel, strong comm. skills, prompt w/ emails)
• Command line structures that are Ericsson based

What does a typical day look like? (daily tasks) Typical day starts with network triage and alarm assessments, completing cell site PMs, and resolving network outages

Preferred background/prior work experience? Ericsson and Nokia HW, Fiber, and Ethernet

Priority soft skills Communication, Time management, Problem solving

At least 3 years relevant experience required. Responsible for staying current in technical theory, application, and operational discipline. Takes on technical and project-related efforts, providing communication as directed. The Technician has a solid understanding of theory and application related to project management, radio access networks, backhaul to sites, signaling, disaster recovery planning and response, data services, and location-based services. The Technician has a basic understanding of theory and application related to network design, capacity planning, power systems AC/DC, and grounding.

Mileage compensation will also be offer for this position.
