Responsibilities :
The RF Engineer II will support the design and planning of the wireless network, especially as C-Band is added to all sites. Responsibilities include :
Site Design RFDS & Plumbing Diagrams : Creating detailed designs for the RF components of cell sites.
Capacity Evaluation : Working with traffic and implementation teams to evaluate capacity needs for the network.
Equipment Evaluation : Assessing antennas and equipment for future growth and performance.
Radio Engineering Evaluation : Supporting system planning and site acquisition, with a focus on coverage and capacity.
Propagation Tools : Using tools like MapInfo , Google Earth , and ATOLL to assess site candidates, coverage, and zoning.
Cell Site Review : Reviewing and upgrading existing cell sites.
Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Improvement : Collaborating with the performance team to optimize KPIs for network performance.
Model Tuning : Optimizing coverage and performance using propagation tools.
Antennas and Equipment Planning : Ensuring the correct equipment and antennas are selected for macro and small cell sites.
Automation : Identifying opportunities for process automation and sharing findings with the team.
Required Skills and Tools :
Core RF Design Skills :
ATOLL for site candidate comparison and propagation analysis.
Knowledge of 4G and 5G network design, including antenna performance and LTE KPIs.
Model Tuning in propagation tools.
Propagation tool experience with tools like MapInfo and Google Earth .
Experience with regulatory filings (FAA / FCC, ASR, ULS).
Software Skills :
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel with VBA macros).
Familiarity with Fuze and Roofmaster .
SQL and Visio knowledge.
Familiarity with FCC , ASR , and ULS databases.
Tools Knowledge (Preferred) :
Experience with Ericsson performance tools .
Basic Visual Basic macro creation for process automation.
