JOB TITLE: RAN DU Migration Specialist

LOCATION: Denver, CO (onsite only)

DURATION: 12 MONTHS CONTRACT

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RAN DU Migration Specialist to lead the migration of RAN Distributed Units (DU) from VMware ESXi, PhotonOS, and Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG) environments to Wind River Cloud Studio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecom cloud-native technologies, RAN (Radio Access Network) architecture, and end-to-end migration processes.

Key Responsibilities:

           •         Design and execute a detailed migration plan to transition RAN DU workloads from VMware ESXi, PhotonOS, and TKG to Wind River Cloud Studio.

           •         Perform environment assessments and compatibility analysis for existing virtualized infrastructure and target cloud-native platform.

           •         Migrate and validate RAN DU workloads, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and adherence to 5G performance standards.

           •         Configure and optimize Wind River Cloud Studio to meet RAN performance and scalability requirements.

           •         Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cloud, RAN engineering, and operations, to ensure seamless integration and testing.

           •         Conduct performance benchmarking and troubleshooting of RAN DUs on the Wind River platform.

           •         Develop scripts and automation tools for migration and orchestration tasks.

           •         Document processes, workflows, and best practices for future reference.

           •         Provide technical support and training to operational teams post-migration.

Qualifications:

           •         Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.

           •         Experience:

           •         5 years of experience in telecom cloud solutions, with a focus on RAN DU implementations.

           •         Proven track record of migrating workloads from VMware ESXi/PhotonOS to cloud-native platforms.

           •         Hands-on experience with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG) and Wind River Cloud Studio.

           •         Skills:

           •         Deep understanding of 5G RAN architecture, including DU, CU, and RU components.

           •         Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi) and container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, TKG).

           •         Expertise in Wind River Cloud Studio and its configuration for RAN workloads.

           •         Knowledge of PhotonOS and Linux-based systems.

          Knowledge in Kubernetes and cloud native principles

          •           Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible) for automation.

           •         Familiarity with telecom standards like O-RAN and 3GPP.

           •         Certifications:

           •         Relevant certifications in VMware, Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), and Wind River are preferred.

Soft Skills:

           •         Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

           •         Effective communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical teams.

           •         Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

           •         Experience with O-RAN CaaS platforms or similar telco-grade cloud-native ecosystems.

           •         Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in telecom environments.

           •         Experience with monitoring tools and frameworks for RAN workloads.
