This position is ideal for someone who has a wide range of handyman skills and a strong understanding of property maintenance, including plumbing, HVAC systems, painting, cleaning, and basic technology.
Job Description:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring that all properties under our management are in top condition. Your responsibilities will span general maintenance tasks, from plumbing repairs to HVAC system troubleshooting and upgrades. You’ll also be involved in cleaning, painting, and providing hands-on solutions to the day-to-day needs of the properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, and general property upkeep.
- Address plumbing issues such as leaky faucets, clogged drains, and pipe repairs.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, ensuring optimal operation for heating and cooling systems.
- Conduct general cleaning and sanitizing of common areas and individual units.
- Paint walls, doors, and other surfaces, ensuring a neat and professional finish.
- Handle minor electrical tasks such as replacing light switches, outlets, and light fixtures.
- Respond to service requests and emergency calls promptly, ensuring timely repairs.
- Provide quality service and respond in a professional and polite manner.
- Be available for snow removal as directed by the company. Inspect and clear walkways and paths of egress as required. This may include nights, weekends, holidays and long duration storms.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
- Use technology tools (smartphones, apps, and software) to report and track work orders, maintenance tasks, and inventory.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and take direction.
- Willingness to complete any task whether minor or major.
- Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, or similar role in property management or facilities maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and general maintenance.
- Ability to paint and complete minor repair work to maintain a clean, functional property.
- Comfortable with technology, including the use of maintenance management software and mobile apps.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, bend, and work in various environments.
- A positive, customer-service-oriented attitude with the ability to communicate effectively with tenants and property owners.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between job sites.
- Must be available after hours and weekends for emergency on-call scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work.
- Experience with property management or working in a similar setting.
- Knowledge of property management software.
