Salary Range: $75-$100k a year; exempt position - salary is based upon education, knowledge and years of experience.
Work Schedule: Monday Friday; 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. & Saturday 7:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Summary: The Service Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating all service department activities in a way that meets or exceeds customer expectations. The Manager is also responsible for the profit and loss performance of the department.
Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma and/or GED required
- College or Technical training preferred but not mandatory
- Valid Drivers License and good driving record required; CDL license preferred but not mandatory
- Minimum seven years heavy duty truck mechanical experience
- Three to five years of supervisory experience
- Verbal and written communication skills necessary for communicating with customers, management, employees and vendors
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to understand financial information as it pertains to dealership operations
- Other duties, as assigned.
Essential Duties
Financial Performance
- Monitor performance vs. budget on a daily basis.
- Monitor and maintain efficiency and productivity goals.
- Review financial performance with upper management on a monthly basis.
- Develop strategies for improving and maintaining departmental profitability
- Responsible for reconciling service related general ledger accounts, ..Cash, sublet, warranty.
Customer Satisfaction
- Interface with customers as necessary to provide the best level of service available and resolve customer disputes.
- Ensure best in class customer service from the Service Advisors.
- Responsible for addressing Customer Surveys, and exceeding OEM targets.
- Meet with the best customers at their place of business.
Operations Management
- Ensure that proper procedures are being followed and correct policies are in place to meet customer, OEM requirements, and Nextran requirements.
- Interact with appropriate manufacturer's personnel to ensure outstanding customer service and to ensure proper procedures are being followed by dealer personnel.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment.
- Monitor warranty operation.
Employee Management
- Recruit, hire, develop and manage service department personnel.
- Ensure technicians are certified and necessary training classes are scheduled.
- Address complaints and resolve personnel issues in accordance with established Nextran policies.

- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Use of torque wrenches, air powered tools or hand tools.
- Use of arms in a raised position above shoulder level for prolong periods of time. Use of creeper or rolling device to enable tech to work underneath vehicle.
- The employee frequently is required to walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- The employee is required to stand and sit for extended periods of time (hours) while making repairs.
- Entry or exit from the cab of the vehicle.
- Climb to a safe position to access the engine compartment area, firewall or roof of a vehicle to perform repairs.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to push/pull large tool chest from vehicle to vehicle.
