WORKING SHOP FOREMAN
Non-Exempt position: Salary based on an individuals skills, certifications, education, and years of experience.
Work Hours: Monday through Friday: 7:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. &
Saturday 7:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m.as necessary

The Shop Foreman will lead, mentor, and manage service shop personnel to ensure that an exceptional level of customer service is achieved by completing all jobs within the time frame promised as efficiently as possible. This person will regularly assist management with the development of technicians through On-The-Job Training.
Essential Duties
- Assigns work in a productive manner to achieve quality repairs and ensure that promised estimated time of repair (ETR) is achieved.
- Maintains constant and accurate communications with Service Technicians.
- Assists the Lead Uptime Technician whenever necessary to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- Minimizes customer wait time on new truck arrivals.
- Works closely with the Lead Uptime Technician during the quality control process of all repairs in order to minimize Reworks, Comebacks, and any customer dissatisfaction with Nextran products and/or services.
- Challenges technicians with assigned work.
- Coaches Technicians, recommending training, and discipline as necessary.
- Directly supervises technician Trainees.
- Provides technical support to technicians and management.
- Follows Customer Contact and Communication Policy.
- Follows all Nextran policies and procedures, including Nextrans Pledge to Customers.
- Gathers Quality Control Feedback for coaching purposes.
- Assists with Heavy diagnostic jobs.
- Notify Service Manager of broken tools, and unsafe conditions.
- Service Advisor duties and all Customer communication start to finish
- Other duties may be assigned at any time based on departmental needs.
Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma and/or GED
- College and/or technical training preferred but not mandatory
- Must have valid driver and/or CDL license and clean driving record (MVR)
- Minimum seven years heavy duty truck mechanical experience
- Three to five years of supervisory experience
- Verbal and written communication skills necessary for communicating with customers, management, employees and vendors
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to understand financial information as it pertains to dealership operations
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations with only limited resources. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Use of torque wrenches, air powered tools or hand tools.
- Use of arms in a raised position above shoulder level for prolong periods of time. Use of creeper or rolling device to enable tech to work underneath vehicle.
- The employee frequently is required to walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- The employee is required to stand and sit for extended periods of time (hours) while making repairs.
- Entry or exit from the cab of the vehicle.
- Climb to a safe position to access the engine compartment area, firewall or roof of a vehicle to perform repairs.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to push/pull large tool chest from vehicle to vehicle.
