Summary:
The Back Counter Part Sales is responsible for loading parts lists into ASIST and Fusion with accurate pricing and communicating availability. They are also responsible for gathering and delivering the parts to the Service Department accurately and quickly.
Essential Duties
Service Repair Order – Parts Sales
- Creates accurate parts lists for estimates.
- Uses Impact, Parts Compass, and Cummins Software to identify and order parts.
- Fills service department pick lists for approved work.
- Uses MV ASIST to add parts and update Service Department estimates.
- Works with Inventory Control for Back Order tracking, and VOR’s.
- Provide delivery dates, status of orders, and back orders to customers.
- Completes necessary quotes, invoices, and order forms as appropriate for specialty items.
- Delivers and picks-up parts and cores to service department bays.
- Forklift operation as needed (Need to be certified to operate).
Parts Department Support:
- Assists in unpacking and packing parts for UPS shipment if needed.
- Assists in physical inventory, routine maintenance, and cleaning.
- Attends continual training courses in-house and at vendor locations as required.
- Delivers or pick-up parts in company vehicle as needed.
- Manages weekly core returns.
Parts Counter Sales:
- Conducts telephone and over-the-counter sales, invoices customers, and takes payments.
- Assists customers in part selection and provides technical information and advice.
- Suggests possible add-on items as appropriate.
- Promotes sales by telephone, mail, and email.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- One year of experience in parts counter sales or one year of experience in the industry.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Computer proficiency
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve problems and deal with various variables in situations with only limited resources. Ability to interpret various written, oral, or diagram instructions.

- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
