SERVICE ADVISOR
Non-Exempt position: $25/hr., based on an individual’s skills, certifications, education, and years of experience.

The Service Advisor is responsible for scheduling service work, establishing written service estimates, and providing ongoing communication with the customer on the status of repair orders.
Essential Duties
- Greeting customers and providing best-in-class customer service with a smile!
- Interview the customer thoroughly regarding the nature of the complaint.
- Inspect the vehicle, taking pictures of the 4 corners, windshield, and VIN.
- Create ASIST Case, and Repair Order for the repair.
- Schedule service appointments with Shop Foreman
- Preparing written estimates for parts and labor, providing accurate timeframe for completion, inspecting vehicle and recommending additional services as needed.
- Educating customers on manufacturer’s recommended maintenance.
- Tracking service work/repair orders, updating dispatch system, and providing customers with timely follow-up on work in progress.
- Explaining service work and related charges to customers before, during, and after the completion of services.
- Reviewing completed work with the Shop Foreman and back parts counter personnel.
- Processing repair orders and handling customer’s method of payment.
- Test Driving vehicle with customer, as needed.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma and/or GED required
- College or Technical training preferred but not mandatory
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL license preferred but not required.
- Minimum three years’ experience in light and/or heavy-duty truck industry with a working knowledge of parts and services used in repair and maintenance. Similar experience in related industries will be considered.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to understand financial information as it pertains to dealership operations
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations with only limited resources. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
