HR Administrator
We are seeking an experienced and engaging HR Administrator to join our team. This is a temp-to-perm role based in Washington, DC 20001 that will run from January 2025 through December 2025. The pay rate is $33.65 per hour.
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Law Center Human Resources, you will serve as a subject matter expert and primary HR contact for the Law Center. You'll work closely with the Director to prioritize business operations and provide exceptional support to our stakeholders. Additionally, strong attention to detail, clear communication skills, dedication to training others, and pristine customer service are critical to success in this position.
As the HR Administrator, you will be the primary contact for all human resources related inquiries from our adjuncts, faculty, staff, students and contingent workers. You will determine and implement best practices for screening and monitoring requests, providing guidance on position evaluations, and completing full cycle HCM and Recruiting transaction activities within Workday.
Other routine responsibilities include:
- Processing new hires, transfers, promotions, costing allocations, payments and terminations
- Planning and executing daily HR operations
- Completing staffing changes and HR deliverables including I-9 administration
- Assisting with recruiting and onboarding of new hires
- Providing training for stakeholders and new employees
You'll interact regularly with:

- Dean's office
- Faculty Affairs
- Financial Affairs
- Academic Affairs
- Information Systems Technology (IST)
- University Information Systems (UIS)
- University Human Resources
- Office of Faculty and Staff Benefits
- Payroll Services
- HR partners at other University campuses
This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week onsite and 2 days remote.
To be successful in this position, you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field plus 3 years of progressive HR or business administration experience
- Understanding of and experience with human capital management operations
- Proficiency in MS Office, Gmail, Calendar, Zoom, Teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Experience using Human Resource Information Systems
- Analytical skills and ability to quickly solve problems
- Superb attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience presenting to diverse groups
- Discretion when handling confidential information
- Knowledge of HR policies and labor laws
Experience with Workday and training/facilitation skills are preferred but not required.
