Job Summary
This position requires the ability to set up, adjust and troubleshoot operations of all injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment. The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude and be familiar with water, hydraulic and electrical hookups.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up mechanical hookups as well as water, hydraulics and electrical hookups for injection molding machines
- Document process by writing Maintenance and Tool room work orders
- Operate auxiliary equipment such as grinders, conveyors and closing machines
- Clean and maintain equipment
- Maintain the flow of quality of parts being produced, arrange work areas and setup auxiliary equipment as required
Troubleshooting and Maintenance
- Setup and troubleshooting of injection molding machines and related equipment
- Use of production process change form if adjustments go outside control limits
- Communicate any process changes to operators/inspectors for inspection per I.S.
- Communicate machine and process status to supervisors, operations and other technicians as needed
Safety and Housekeeping
- Perform daily housekeeping to provide a clean and safe work environment
Requirements
- 2-5 years of work experience in plastic and plastic processing
- Knowledge of how an injection-molding machine works
- Understanding and good knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electronics
