What are the responsibilities and job description for the Midwest Regional Sales Manager position at NextStep Group?
The Midwest Region Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving the sales goals of our client in the U.S. Midwest Region in the Construction Rental/Supply and Event sales channels. This remote position offers flexibility to be based in Wisconsin (WI), Minnesota (MN), Illinois (IL), Indiana (IN), or other Midwest locations. The Midwest Region Sales Manager will report to our Global V.P. of Sales. Specific duties of the Sales Manager include the following:
- Develop and execute sales plans to achieve sales goals and aggressively gain market share
- Add new, profitable customers and grow sales with existing accounts
- Work in partnership and proactively manage independent sales reps and key distributors
- Actively assist with monthly forecasting for the region
- Develop and maintain key relationships at the distributor, equipment rental house, and end-user levels to influence decision making process regarding the specification and purchase of our client’s products
- Become an expert on our client’s products and conduct training and sales presentations
- Be a conduit of market information for our client’s development purposes
The successful candidate will complete an in-depth training program comprised of training at our client’s headquarters in Wisconsin and in the field with our Regional Sales Managers.Our client pays for all travel-related expenses, provides a computer and smart phone, as well as a leased company vehicle. Our client offers an annual base compensation of up to $120,000 plus a 25% bonus and benefits package. This position will require approximately 50% overnight travel.
Ideal candidate profile:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience with direct sales of durable/capital goods and/or construction equipment
- Demonstrated record of success in selling durable products through a distributor/dealer network.
- Proven success in the direct-selling prospecting process, resulting in a high rate of closing the sale.
- Highly developed sales skills and personal attributes including persuasiveness, planning/organizing, reliability and integrity.
- Strong mechanical / technical aptitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop / maintain business relationships
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- 4-year college degree is required
- Experience in the construction equipment rental channel is a plus
- Strong desire to have a career with a winning team
