NextStep Recruiting is partnering with a roofing and exterior repair solutions leader in Atlanta, GA! Our client is seeking a Safety Director to join their team. The Safety Director will support the Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Operating Officer and be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive safety strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Create a standard safety program, emphasizing proactive safety measures, compliance, and accountability
- Conduct site safety audits and identify any hazards
- Act as the subject matter expert for all safety measures and OSHA compliance requirements
- Document all investigations and incidents
- Manage workers' compensation claims and work with the Finance team to resolve and mitigate claims
Requirements:
- 8 years of leadership experience in safety roles, construction, or roofing industry preferred
- Experience developing and implementing safety programs
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations
- Previous experience with managing workers' compensation claims and mitigating risk
- Ability to travel to various sites (approximately 50%)
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) certification preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
