Overview
The Nexus Water Group team has an opportunity for a Project Scheduler. This position is responsible for developing and managing schedules for construction and engineering projects, assisting project managers with schedule planning, and coordinating and monitoring of scheduled tasks and assignments. This position also identifies any delays and facilitates remedial action to ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget.
Work Location and Schedule
This position will be based in Charlotte, NC with some travel.
What You'll Do
- Consults with Project Managers and construction project teams to set up assignments, tasks and subtasks
- Develops, coordinates, and maintains MS Project schedules
- Identifies potential delays and recommends interventions to ensure project completion on time and on budget
- Analyzes project schedule for efficiency and provides status reports to internal stakeholders
- Consulting with project managers and technical experts to set up assignments, tasks, and subtasks.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective scheduling management system.
- Coordinating project timelines with internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Monitoring project timelines and deadlines.
- Identifying potential project schedule delays and facilitating intervention in a timely manner.
- Evaluating performance and preparing project progress reports.
- Accommodating updates and changes to project schedules.
- Recommending actions to keep projects within budget, and completed on time.
- Keeping stakeholders informed of project timelines and deadlines.
- Documenting project scheduling processes and maintaining records.
- Other duties as assigned
What You'll Bring
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in project scheduling
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the construction industry
Education and Licenses
- Bachelor's degree in project management, or in a related field.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license
Nice to have
- Certification as a PMI scheduling professional (PMI-SP), or similar, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of the scope of projects within the industry.
- Advanced proficiency in project scheduling software, such as MS Projects
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite of applications such as MS Excel and MS Word
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
- Able to utilize sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills regarding complex problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
Work Environment
- Light to moderate levels of physical activity on an occasional to regular basis
- Light physical activity could include normal office work.
- Little to no travel required.
- Usage of PC and/or laptop, copy machine, telephone, and other general office equipment.
- Usage of tools for maintenance or repairs
- Lifting or moving up to 25 pounds occasionally
- May stay in one position with little movement occasionally for short periods of time.
- Use of specialized PPE will be worn for work tasks as required.
