1. Financial Planning and Analysis: Charting Our Course

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: You will develop and maintain comprehensive financial budgets and forecasts, providing a roadmap for our financial future.
  • Performance Analysis: You'll dive deep into our financial performance, identifying trends, uncovering opportunities, and providing insightful analysis to guide strategic decisions.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Your financial expertise will be instrumental in providing actionable recommendations to the executive team, directly impacting our business trajectory.


2. Accounting and Financial Reporting: Ensuring Accuracy and Compliance

  • Daily Operations: Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
  • GAAP Compliance: Guarantee adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in all financial practices.
  • Financial Statements: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements that reflect the true financial picture of the company.
  • Closing Processes: Manage month-end and year-end closing processes with precision and efficiency.


3. Systems Expertise: Mastering SimPro, QuickBooks, and Quotewerks

  • System Management: Oversee the management and maintenance of our critical financial systems: SimPro, QuickBooks, and Quotewerks.
  • Pricing Strategies: Develop and implement intelligent pricing strategies for our products and services, maximizing profitability while remaining competitive.
  • Data Accuracy: Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all product and pricing information within these systems.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales and operations teams to optimize pricing and product offerings, ensuring seamless integration and alignment.


4. Job Costing: Driving Project Profitability

  • Methodology Development: Develop and implement robust job costing methodologies that provide a clear understanding of project profitability.
  • Cost Tracking and Analysis: Meticulously track and analyze job costs to ensure projects remain on budget and profitable.
  • Profitability Insights: Provide valuable job costing insights to project managers and executives, enabling informed decision-making and proactive adjustments.


5. Expense Management: Optimizing Resources

  • Policy Development: Develop and enforce comprehensive expense management policies and procedures that promote fiscal responsibility.
  • Expense Monitoring: Monitor and control expenses, ensuring they align with budgetary constraints and strategic goals.
  • Cost-Saving Initiatives: Proactively identify and analyze expense trends, uncovering opportunities to streamline processes and reduce costs.


6. Payroll and Benefits Administration: Supporting Our Team

  • Payroll Processing: Oversee payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payments to our valued employees.
  • Benefits Management: Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans (401k), and paid time off, providing a comprehensive and competitive package.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with all payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.


7. Insurance Management: Protecting Our Assets

  • Policy Management: Manage the company's insurance policies, including general liability, property, and workers' compensation, ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Coverage Evaluation: Evaluate insurance coverage needs, negotiate policies with providers, and secure the best possible protection for the company.
  • Claims Processing: Handle insurance claims efficiently and liaise with insurance companies as needed.


8. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Maintaining Healthy Cash Flow

  • AP Management: Oversee the entire accounts payable process, from invoice processing to payment approvals and vendor management.
  • AR Management: Manage the accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and customer account reconciliations, ensuring timely payments.
  • Aging Analysis: Monitor and analyze aging reports to optimize cash flow, minimize bad debt, and maintain strong financial health.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Implement and maintain effective policies and procedures for AP/AR management, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

  • Cash Flow Management: Proactively manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure financial stability.
  • Risk Management: Monitor and manage financial risks, implementing strategies to mitigate potential challenges.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all financial regulations and tax requirements.

  • Mentorship: Manage and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.

What You Bring to the Table: Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or MBA is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in financial management roles, demonstrating a track record of success.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Systems Proficiency: Proven experience with SimPro, QuickBooks, and Quotewerks systems.
  • Pricing and Product Knowledge: Knowledge of pricing strategies and product management best practices.
  • AP/AR Expertise: Experience with AP/AR processes and management, including aging analysis and collections.
  • Payroll and Benefits Knowledge: Solid understanding of payroll processes, benefits administration, and insurance management.
