Description
As a Service Technician at Nexus Disposal, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet of commercial vehicles. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of vehicle maintenance, with a primary focus on tires, greasing, and routine inspections. This position is vital to our commitment to delivering top-quality service to our customers while upholding the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily wheel and tire installations, including balancing wheels and checking for proper air pressure and fit.
- Conduct daily checks of all fluid levels and replenish as needed.
- Accurately maintain tire and lube records, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and complete.
- Complete paperwork associated with vehicle repairs, documenting parts usage and services performed.
- Respond to tire service calls when needed to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Perform small repairs as assigned, addressing minor mechanical issues to ensure the vehicles are in optimal working condition.
- Review and check the Vehicle Condition Report (VCR) for each vehicle, verifying that all reported repairs have been completed to the highest standards.
- Execute scheduled preventative maintenance services under limited supervision, including greasing and lubrication.
- Conduct vehicle inspections for mechanical services, identifying and addressing issues promptly.
- Perform safety checks on vehicles, verifying that all safety-related equipment is in optimal working condition.
- Inspect and lubricate commercial vehicles thoroughly to ensure their continued reliability and longevity.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Service Technician or similar role, preferably in a fleet maintenance environment.
- Certification in tire maintenance and/or automotive repair is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of vehicle systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and completing paperwork.
- Commitment to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required).
