What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Designer position at Nexus Engineering Group?
The Electrical Designer is responsible for design and drafting services that meet the client’s requirements and expectations while conforming to appropriate Codes and Standards for the associated project. Detailed designs and drawings include:
· Power & Electrical Distribution
· Electrical One-Line Diagrams
· Schematics
· Interconnection diagrams
· Plans-Lighting, Grounding, Power, Heat Tracing, etc.
· Conduit/Cable Schedules
· Electrical Details
The Electrical Designer should be aware that the design process includes visiting clients’ facilities and performing physical work such as walking, standing, climbing ladders and lifting.
\n- Associate Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent
- Minimum two (2) years design/drafting experience & skilled in standard drafting techniques
- Proficient in 2-D CAD; 3-D CAD, Plant Design, Revit & other Autodesk® products a plus
- Knowledge of or proficient in field investigations and measurements
- Working knowledge of Codes and Standards
- Working knowledge of or familiarity with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work independently
- Strong attention to detail and performing self-checking of work
