The Marketing Intern will work closely with the marketing team to create engaging content for social media platforms, update website content, assist with internal communications, and more. This role offers hands-on experience in digital marketing, social media strategy, and content creation, and provides valuable exposure to the day-to-day operations of a marketing department.
The intern must be able to effectively convey information in multiple formats—written, verbal, and visual. This includes crafting compelling written content, delivering clear verbal communication, and leveraging visual storytelling techniques such as infographics, slide decks, and video content to enhance audience engagement and understanding.
Given that Nexus is an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) firm, the intern will play a key role in translating complex technical concepts into clear, engaging, and marketable content. While prior knowledge of the EPCM industry is not required, the intern must be eager to learn industry terminology and apply it effectively in marketing materials.

Responsibilities
- Research and translate complex industry concepts into digestible marketing content for blog posts, website pages, press releases, and internal communications (Microsoft Office, Canva, LinkedIn, Facebook)
- Develop and proofread marketing materials to ensure clarity, professionalism, and alignment with the Nexus brand
- Collaborate with team members to understand industry language and convert technical insights into compelling content
- Monitor social media performance, helping refine content strategies based on analytics
- Support additional marketing projects as needed, including research, competitive analysis, and campaign development
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent education) in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
- Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills with keen attention to detail. Experience with copywriting for professional social media is a plus
- Ability to quicky understand and communicate technical topics in an accessible way
- Familiarity with LinkedIn and Facebook platforms and strong digital content skills
- Proficiency in Canva and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with Atlassian JIRA or content management systems is a plus
- Ability to work well in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and learning
- Gain a deeper understanding of marketing in a technical, engineering-focused industry
- Develop professional writing skills by crafting content for technical audiences
- Gain hands-on experience in content creation, social media management, and digital marketing strategies in a B2B marketing environment
- Learn how to track and measure social media performance and understand marketing analytics
- Collaborate on marketing campaigns and brainstorming sessions
- Learn about marketing analytics and how to measure content engagement
