We are accepting one intern for the summer block and one intern for the academic year, 2025-2026!
Nexus-Mille Lacs offers trauma-informed, family-centered, nationally recognized treatment for boys, ages 10-19, with significant mental health issues and harmful sexual behaviors. Responsibilities:
- Fulfills the required academic program and or/Academic Institution’s criteria for an internship learning objectives
- Participates in the orientation and the onboarding process to learn Nexus Family Healing’s policy and procedure expectations (e.g. safety, harassment free environment, resident confidentiality, etc.)
- Ensures confidentiality of all treatment and services information pertaining to clients and their families
- Maintains agreed upon schedule and timeliness
- Meets the supervision requirements and expectations
- Acts ethically, professionally, and is respectful when communicating and interfacing with clients, coworkers, and external contacts
Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in a master’s or other graduate degree in one of the behavioral sciences, human services, or related fields, from an accredited college or university.
- Must meet the required number of experience hours in a human services field for the internship level
- Valid driver's license required and meets the state regulating agency and Nexus Corporate driving requirements
- Knowledge of family-based philosophy and practice is preferred

Physical Demands:
- Must be able to assist staff in physical interventions and restraints
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (2-4 hours)
- Must be able to twist, bend and stretch in a manner conducive to daily activities within a residential treatment facility
