Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse the RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with the laws governing nursing practice. The RN provides nursing care to Pediatric patients in ages ranging from Infancy to Late Adolescence.
Job Description:
• Provide planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process of Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation.
• Develop nursing care plan in coordination with patient, family, and interdisciplinary staff as necessary.
• Communicate changes in patient's clinical condition with Physicians, Nursing Supervisor/Manager, and co-workers as appropriate.
• Participate in discharge planning process.
•Coordinates the plans of care
•Collaborates with the patient, family and members of the health care team to establish desired outcomes and to meet immediate and future health care needs
•Educates patients and families/caregivers
•Demonstrates positive and effective interpersonal skills, communication, and customer service skills
•Demonstrates the ability to manage time and resources in a cost-effective manner
•Accountable for maintaining professional development of self and participates in development of others
•Shifts are 12 hours 7P-7A; night shift staff are eligible for shift premium
Education:
Registered Nurse in the state of Texas
Experience:
1 year of experience in a Pediatric acute/post acute or rehabilitation setting
Preferred: 2 years Pediatric Nursing care in an acute/post acute or rehabilitation setting, NICU, or PICU
Certification:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
