About the Job
Offer a personalized approach to healthcare and holistic medical services treating various medical conditions. Produce healthcare and health management programs based on individual patients’ historical data. Providing care, including routine checkups, health-risk assessments, vaccination and screening tests, and individualized counseling on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Clinical Duties:
Provide comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
Conduct routine check-ups, annual physicals, and preventive care to promote overall health and wellness.
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, including but not limited to diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, respiratory conditions, and infections.
Perform minor in-office procedures, such as wound suturing, skin biopsies, joint injections, and abscess drainage.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including blood work, imaging, and screenings.
Administer vaccinations and immunizations in accordance with CDC guidelines.
Educate patients on disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and chronic disease management.
Refer patients to specialists when necessary and coordinate follow-up care.
Medication Management & Prescriptions:
Prescribe and manage medications, ensuring proper dosages and monitoring for adverse reactions.
Oversee medication refills and prior authorizations for insurance approval.
Educate patients about medication adherence, potential side effects, and alternative treatments.
Supervision & Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated patient care.
Supervise and mentor physician assistants (PAs), nurse practitioners (NPs), and medical students, if applicable.
Work closely with administrative and support staff to enhance clinic operations and patient flow.
Qualifications:
1 to 2 years experience as a Family Medicine Practitioner
Enrolled as a provider for MediCare and MediCal is highly preferred
Comfortable treating patients of all ages
Active participation in continued medical education and membership to a professional organization is highly preferred
Able to work in Northern California
