What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Tax Manager 0225 position at nexus IT group?
Responsibilities:
- Lead federal and state income tax planning initiatives and projects.
- Support quarterly and annual tax provision calculations in compliance with ASC 740 and FIN 48.
- Assist with federal and state income tax audits as needed.
- Manage and provide daily direction to a team of six to eight direct reports, as well as external consultants.
- Offer leadership and mentorship to employees in the financial reporting department.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws in all supervisory responsibilities.
- Oversee hiring, training, work assignments, performance evaluations, and employee development.
- Address workplace issues and implement solutions to enhance team performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field from an accredited institution, with 5 years of professional accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in team management, leadership, or project oversight.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. and state income tax laws.
- Proficiency in US GAAP accounting for income taxes.
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with CorpTax Compliance system, SAP, and Hyperion preferred.
- Strong collaboration skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Professional, approachable, and team-oriented with excellent relationship-building skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other Microsoft Office tools.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
