Job Description
The Application Engineer is responsible for providing both pre-sale and post-sale technical application support for power semiconductor products. This position requires the Application Engineer to provide in-depth product knowledge to assist various customers via phone, web, or on-site visits to:
- Provide technical product training.
- Assist in troubleshooting products.
- Identify and resolve technical/application issues as related to the products.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of the company’s products and offerings.
- Provide detailed application-based support to both Sales and Customers.
- Work closely with customers to troubleshoot and resolve any product application issues that may arise.
- Collect customer requirements for future products and provide input to the product development roadmap and R&D activities.
- Prepare technical presentation materials.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist in reviewing or developing necessary product technical documentation and literature
- Prepare technical training material
- Create and publish application notes that may be product specific, application specific, or general information for EV, EV Charging, Renewable Energy, UPS, solid-state circuit breakers and AC drives
- Collect and feedback product enhancements, deficiencies, and/or competitive product information to product owners
Qualifications & Experience
- Prior experience in power semiconductors, power electronics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor applications, power switching, and energy conversion.
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Passion for working closely with clients to enhance product adoption and performance.
